I’d been a Primary School Teacher for almost 20 years but was becoming disillusioned with Education Policy and budget cuts taking the joy out the profession I loved. I was looking round for other possibilities and came across an advertisement from RED.

I’ve always enjoyed driving and here was a way I could combine it with teaching and be in control of my work/life balance. My initial phone conversation with RED convinced me that they were the right company to train with and every step of the process has been positive and professional. Whatever the query, RIS have been friendly and helpful.

The training course and materials are comprehensive and easy to use. Using a Trainee Licence gives you the opportunity to apply your training to real learners and gives you a realistic picture of what to expect from the profession. As a teacher, I was well aware of the job satisfaction when a learner has grasped something new and this is no different. There’s no better feeling than when your learner passes their test.

My Trainer, Dave Bentley, has helped me develop my teaching skills and achieve the standard to pass my ADI Part 3. He has always been positive and encouraging, so that I looked forward to my training sessions. Dave was also supportive and patient when he needed to be too. I’m sure I’ll stay in touch with him and seek out his help and advice, especially when my Standards Check is due.

I’m now looking forward to progressing my career as a RED Driving Instructor.
